Mary Descenza Mohler
During a remarkable swimming career, Mary Descenza Mohler was a world record holder, two-time world champion, and seven-time world championship medalist. Mary was a 14-time NCAA champion swimming for UGA, including winning the 200 butterfly four years in a row from 2003-2006. She was a 28-time NCAA All American, the most in UGA history. Mary led the Lady Bulldogs to the NCAA title in 2005. In 2006, she was awarded the Honda Sports Cup as the top female collegiate swimmer in the country. From 2001- 2009, Mary was a mainstay on US national teams at the World Championships, winning one bronze, four silver, and two gold medals. At the 2009 World Championships, she broke the world record in the 200 meter butterfly.
