Lisa Watson

Began her swimming career as a member of the Amateur Athletic Union. Lisa later attended North Carolina State University; her only swimming option was to train with the men’s team. However, in 1972 with the inception of Title IX, Lisa transferred to the University of Florida and finally enjoyed the collegiate experience of training with a female team. Lisa later directed her passion and enthusiasm for competitive swimming to both Georgia Masters and United States Masters programs. She chaired Georgia Masters for over 30 years and served on numerous US Masters Committees. As a competitive Masters swimmer, she held numerous top ten honors from 1985-1999 in several individual events. Lisa’s involvement enabled the programs to grow, improve, and succeed locally, regionally, and nationally.
