Billy Heinz-2014

Billy Heinz is a former diver who competed for Westminster Schools and Princeton. The height of Heinz’s diving career was while he attended Princeton. In 1973, Heinz was one of only three divers in the country to place in the AAU Summer National finals in all three diving events. Heinz was runner-up in the NCAA Championships in both the 1-meter and 3-meter events in 1974. The following year, he represented the United States in the World Championships where he placed fourth and fifth in his respective events. For over 30 years, Heinz held the Princeton school record in the 1-meter, which was the oldest record in Princeton Swimming & Diving history.

Chris Davis-2014

Chris Davis is the founder, owner and head coach of SwimAtlanta. Prior to coaching, Davis swam for the Decatur DeKalb YMCA and competed collegiately for Birmingham Southern University. Davis founded SwimAtlanta in 1977. SwimAtlanta has since become one of the top programs in the country and grown to be the largest club in Georgia with seven locations across the metro area. Davis has established a successful business model that brings in kids from the learn-to-swim level and helps develop them into elite athletes. Olympians coming out of the SwimAtlanta program include Eric Shanteau, Hans Dersch, Doug Gjertsen, Kathleen Hersey, and Amanda Weir.

Eric Wunderlich-2014

Eric Wunderlich is an Olympian who grew up swimming for Riverwood High School, and briefly, Dynamo Swim Club. Wunderlich went on to swim for the University of Michigan where was the the NCAA Champion in the 200y breaststroke in 1993. Internationally, Wunderlich represented the United States in the 1994 World Championships and 1995 Pan-Pacific Games before competing in the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games where he placed seventh in the 200m breaststroke. During the 1994 World Championships, Wunderlich not only earned a silver medal in the 100m breaststroke, but he was also part of the gold medal and world record-breaking 4x100m medley relay.

Maritza “Ritz” Correia McClendon-2014

Maritza “Ritz” Correia McClendon is a 2004 Olympic silver medalist in the 4x100m freestyle relay. She was the first woman of color to make an Olympic swimming team for the United States and medal. Ritz swam for the University of Georgia where she was a member of two Bulldog NCAA Championship teams and earned Student-Athlete of the Year honors in 2003. She was the only swimmer in SEC history to win a SEC title in every freestyle event. Ritz competed internationally as a member of multiple USA teams including World Championships, World University Games, and the Pan-American Games. In 2014, Ritz was recognized as a recipient of the USA Swimming Diversity and Inclusion Award. The following year, she was inducted into the University of Georgia’s Circle of Honor.

Today, Ritz continues to champion swimming as an advisory board member for Blueprint of Success and Diversity in Aquatics. She is a member of Sigma Gamma Rho and promotes the importance of swimming to her sisters across the country.

​​Angel (Myers) Martino-2014

​​Angel (Myers) Martino is a two-time Olympian who grew up swimming in Americus, Georgia. She swam for Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina. Martino participated in the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games and 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games, of which she was the captain of the Team USA Swimming Team. Between 1992 and 1996, she who a total of six medals at the Olympic Games, three relay golds and three individual bronze medals in the 50m freestyle, 100m butterfly, and 100m freestyle. Her 1992 Olympic 4x100m relay team also set a new world record. In addition to the Olympic Games in Barcelona, her international experience includes World Championship, Pan-Pacific, Pan-American, and Goodwill Games competitions.
