The women&#8217;s swimming program at UGA was established in 1974 when a group of women, Holz included, pioneered the efforts to establish the team. Holz was the only individual female to qualify for the AIAW National Championships during the program\u2019s first year. Eventually, Holz became the first Lady Bulldog to earn All-American honors in swimming.
